Prevacation Updates

The last of my prevacation updates.. :) well, at least those with photos available.. haha.

this was, one weekend during psych posting when we had the opportunity to go prawning.. it was quite an interesting experience since i had never fished for anything before.. and i guess one would not expect me to have the patience to either.. ;) so anyway, these are the bait, tiny pieces of chopped up chicken. i can't imagine why prawns would eat chicken though!

so, it was quite sian initially since we were not really v pro, or rather, even the least bit experienced in fishing. so we had not caught a single thing in 1.5h! we watched on as certain persons around the pond caught damn a lot of prawns. we, being quite distressed that we wun even have 1 prawn to split among the 4 of us, decided to ask for help, esp since the super pro couple were leaving. they looked rather amusedly at us, and offered us their fresh fish as bait. by fresh, i actually mean live fish swimming around in a tub! we had to grab and slice up those little fishes.. tt was one step closer to getting a prawn. along came this middle aged uncle, who tried to boast to evange after hearing my conversation with her about getting one prawn in the next 0.5h so that we would have something to show for our time here. he then told her it was gonna be so easy to do tt, and tt he would sell us 10 prawns for 10cents. well, obviously evange thought he was full of crap, esp since he hadn't caught anything yet.

but we kept our spot cuz it was a good spot at the pond according to everyone.

after a while, the uncle saw aud, and pounced on her! wooo, but it was good. he imparted his kung fu to aud, and she started to catch prawns! wow! we were so excited when aud finally caught our v first prawn!!

a momentous occasion - the result of much tender and patient teaching.. ;)



yes, so we actually managed to catch about 8 prawns in the end.. and we started barbequing them. well, to start the fire was immensely difficult. the charcoal they gave is really bad.. and i went thru 3 paper plates before i could get any sort of fire going.


but look, our number of prawns increased! yes, the uncle was afarid tt aud wun have enough to eat, and he gave us like damn a lot of prawns.. i think more than 10! we were so happy.. lol.

the prawns were really good. we just salted and grilled, but they tasted so good! i think its just mainly cuz they were HUGE ASS and fresh.. :D

after our tiring and long escapade at the farm, we were so thirsty.. so we ended our long night at mac's.. :)


this was, a dinner with my jc classmates.. some of whom are back! we went to this lil cafe tt i found online and decided that we should try - Cafe Oliv.

the decoration of the place is rather interesting, and i quite like their wall paper!

aaron, yx and claire just shared some starters and this thing, which i seem to have forgetten what its called. well, its like a pizza, except it has stuffing between 2 crusts. this was quite good if i recalled..

and the other starters.. all fried up!

my main course.. the lamb.. it was HUGE! seriously.. and not bad. i mean its so long ago, i can't quite remember, but it was really huge for the price i paid.. it was definitely v soft.. ;)

and the desserts tt came w the sets.. the brownie and the creme brulee.. i think the creme brulee was better.. and it was not bad, considering tt it was part of a meal and all..



after tt, since we were near my place, michelle of course had to go buy cheng teng. yes, but this time, in addition to cheng teng, we went to this ice cream place opposite, Ice Cream Gallarie i think its called, and we had quite good and interesting ice cream. there was 1 scoop of teh hallia left (ginger tea) i think.. and mich was like i want it, and took it. yx was devasted.. but the woman was v nice.. after a while she scooped up half a scoop of what was left and just gave it to her! :D apparently, there are many other flavours tt were not available anymore cuz we went on a sunday night and over the weekend, they were all bought up! i've to try the bailey's, irish cream, and rum and raisin, sea salt and roasted almonds.. etc. the rum and raisins are apparently, really good.. :)

after a really amusing mahjong game (where mich tricked poor claire who doesn't know how to really play, who was taking over yx who had to answer a phone call), we called it a day. it was quite a fun and amusing night, and even though we hadn't seen each other for half/one year depending on the person.. it really felt as though lil time had passed. we were still the same despite the v different lives we were leading now. its really nice to know tt in the end, we are still great friends.. :)

last post now.. post exams.. mich's bday at carousel. we went down for hi-tea, which was quite a disappointment i must say. it was cheaper than lunch, and the variety was not bad, but all the food were fried, and in general, not tt gd!

the place was decorated quite well, and the desserts were quite good though. yeah, i didn't take pix of the food in general cuz i just wasn't too impressed..


hmmm, i dunno y mich isn't sitting down.. it looks like mine or claire's bday instead. haha

well, so this was basically prevacation days, well together with mahjong and tennis. yes, we've been playing a lot of mahjong lately, and i am quite pleased tt i have been able to cover cost in general.. ;) so yeah.. hope this good fortune continues.. ;)

Refreshed!

after all that has happened this holidays (wish have been numerous events if tt's what you would call them), and of course, my vacation overseas.. i must say i actually feel really refreshed! it feels like a new year, where all the crap has been thrown out.

i feel like i can handle school again. haha. but who knows for how long? ;)

The Post from a Month Back..

heh guys, i am back!! yup, had quite a good trip, and i shall write more abt it when i get the photos from yihan's macbook.. :)

anw, i just realized i drafted these photos before i flew off but didn't manage to type out a post since everything was such an insane rush! i packed about 2 hours before flying, and still managed a heavy 18.5kgs.. 0.o

anws, this was probably a month +++ ago at hideout cafe.. well i was craving for some board games, and since we always end up at settler's, we decided to try this new place out, which was somewhere quite near my place. anw, they didn't have as wide a selection of games as settler's, however, they did have some interesting features, including this forfeit tree, which has many leaves with forfeits written on leaves, stuck onto the tree. it thus makes it really interesting when u are playing games, giving much higher stakes.. ;) well, i shall blog about the forfeits here to protect the identity of all involved.. ;)

yes, furthermore, the staff here are definitely better trained, well, simply because its a smaller establishment with probably the owners and a few friends running the place, maybe tt's why they know their games better and are better able to explain and teach :) anws, this was the 4 of us left, there were actually 5.. until weili left. haha

after tt, we bought a delicious durian chocolate cake from choc.a.block..

well i absolutely loved it. it has rich chocolate, durian cream, cream and more chocolate. what's not to love? :p haha

after mich came and we played some video games, we decided to head out for supper cuz we were hungry. yes.. to the east coast hk cafe we went.. we ordered - a lot. suppers are always so expensive. i love the spicy and salty squid.. its so fattening yet delicious.. :D

and then, at the beach, ty was trying his best to hypnotize ian.. hmmm. not v successful i think. ty's voice = not soothing. haha

we took a spin in the car before heading back to my place.. going to the infamous carpark H. omg, it is qutie funny. the cars parked there with their engines on, and their frosty windows. the funniest has gotta be this huge ass suv tt was really just bobbing up and down. it was insane. haha.

while i was on my com, the others were taking a series of photos all over my room. hmmmm. ian with my huge fluffy lint laying slipper lying in a cleopetra like pose with his multicolored toed toesock.

and various ermmm..



orgasmic shots? wait.. i think this was ty giving birth to a ball or sth. maybe ian spermiated him before tt.. lol

audrey doing her best mermaid impersonation. i recall ian giving her artistic directions.. something to the effect of "fierce audrey"with growling sounds.. rawwr!

and this aimless post concludes a really random and strange night.. i am somewhat puzzeld at this point in time. but nevermind.

anws, this is another random night out.. after a not not so satisfying dinner at akashi at vivo.. cm, yuan and i headed down to boat quay to watch the opening of the singapore arts festival.. well, it was really crowded along the riverside, as it always is when something is happening around that area. but seeing that the performance was on the waters itself, the banks were more crowded than ever.


this troupe was from the netherlands i believe. the thing is, i really had no idea what was happening. it was a performance of water, tt we got.. and there were many little things all over. a cab i remember, a huge person on a unicycle like thing which later exploded into fireworks.. and other random things like a train, and a boat and i dunno, a lamp post!!

yes, so anyways, everything looks really nice, though it was too small, and the place was too crowded to attempt to make out what was really happening. the pyrotechnics were probably the most visible things the whole night. haha.



oh yeah, i saw this nice looking restaurant that was really crowded out the asian civilization museum.. i think its an indochine thing. looks really posh.. its almost like those art galleries in new york where u click glasses on a balcony or a rooftop as you talk about art and life.

and then, we decided to go for some coffee. and i dunno.. yuan was really saying some strange things tt nite. i can't quite remember most of it, but those tt i do, i shall probably not put them here to protect his ermm, remaining reputation. haha

we ended up at starbucks in the end.. i guess, the queues elsewhere were just too long..

yeah, and after tt, was a mad rush to lynette's place for a round of mahjong and supper. and it was really just so amusing to see lynette and yansheng play mahjong.. they just bicker and 'scold' each other about every lil thing. its hilarious, and distracting.. :p haha

ok, i am tired so i am just gonna tell u guys about this sheperd's pie i tried. i think it is quite delicious. i chanced upon it somewhere near my place.. and they actually deliver if u order the size below which is 22 bucks i think. they of course, sell smaller 3 dollar types. it comes in 4 flavours.. and so far, i dunno which one is the nicest. ok, not helpful yes?



but they're all nice. i love the potatoes ontop.. slighty browned but still moist.. :D and the filling is tasty and they're not too miserly. and yes, not peas in there.. :p
